Colours 4 Life is ontstaan door Mario’s grote belangstelling voor de natuur. De schilderijen uit deze serie vormen voor hem de tegenhanger van onze consumptiemaatschappij. In Colours 4 Life vindt hij eenvoud en rust. De zwarte belijningen staan voor de takken van een boom, terwijl de ruimtes daartussen een metafoor zijn voor vrijheid, door Mario gevangen in helder kleurgebruik. ‘Back to basics’ en overzicht in kleurvlakken en lijnenspel, daar draait het om in deze serie kunstwerken.

Colours 4 Life arose from Mario’s great interest in nature. To him, the paintings from this series counterbalance our consumer society. In Colours 4 Life he sees a world that’s comprehensible and peaceful. The black lines represent tree branches, while the spaces in between are meant as a metaphor for freedom, caught by Mario in bright colours. Back to basics as well as keeping an overview by means of colour areas and line patterns, that’s what it’s all about in this series of art pieces.
